Presidents of Ghana Member
Associations meet FIG Council
22-25 July 2022, Accra, Ghana
Two Presidents
(Ghana) meet two Vice Presidents (FIG)
FIG Vice Presidents Diane Dumashie and Kwame Tenadue received a warm
welcome from President Rosemargaret Esubonteng, Ghana Institution of
Surveyors (GhIS) and President Samuel Larbi Darko, Licensed Surveyors
Association of Ghana (LISAG) during a short visit to Accra at the
end of July 2022.
FIG Council gives thanks to both FIG Ghana member associations.
They arranged and we were able to hold productive meetings with their
members including their respective Executive teams, as well as FIG
friends and colleagues in Ghana.
Importantly GHIS and LISAG will jointly be hosting FIG WW 2024 in
Accra, which the FIG community will very much look forward to this
knowing it will be as memorable as the
5th FIG Regional Conference in 2006
Originally this Working Week should have taken place in Accra, Ghana
in 2021, but had to be moved due to the COVID19 Pandemic as it was not
possible to travel. The two local
organising associations graciously accepted to move the Working Week in
Accra to 2024. The destination for the Working Week was elected already
at the FIG Working Week in 2017 and the preparations were in full swing
when the pandemic hit and changed all plans. The Working Week 2021 had
to be transformed into the first ever
FIG e-Working Week 2021.
FIG highly appreciates that both associations from Ghana have taken
up this challenge to move the conference and all its preparations to
2024.
A thanks also to the two FIG Vice Presidents for their involvements
in the preparations.
FIG Vice Presidents Diane Dumashie and Kwame Tenadu met with the
Presidents of the two associations GHiS and LISAC also with FIG
Coordinators Stephen Djaba and Humphrey Amegadoe
