Habitat Professionals Forum Steering Committee met in
Istanbul during the UIA Congress

On occasion of the XXII World Congress of UIA Congress (International
Union of Architects) in Istanbul 3–7 July 2005 there was a Workshop
organised by the Habitat Professionals Forum. In addition to the workshop
the Steering Committee of the Habitat Professionals Forum (HPF) had its
meeting. Chair of the HFP Prof. Holger Magel welcomed the
representative of UN-Habitat Dr. Lars Reutersward, Director of Global
Division who is responsible for the 3rd World Urban Forum to be held in 2006
in Vancouver, Canada and Mr. Selman Erguden, Head of UN Housing
Rights Program and Ms. Aydan Erim, representative of UIA and member
of organizing committee of the UIA Congress in Istanbul. The most inspiring
outcome of the meeting was the clear expression of UN-Habitat
representatives that the HPF is regarded as a very important professional
partner for UN-Habitat at the global level and that it is therefore asked to
make strong contributions to the program of the 3rd WUF in Vancouver in June
2006.
